Sweet Potato Casserole

Updated: Jan 23, 2023

Sweet potato casserole is one of my favorite side dishes. I first tried this dish at Ruth Chris Restaurant. My twins treated me to Mother's day dinner there. The entire meal was delicious. The sweet potato casserole reminded me of sweet potato pie without the crust and an extra layer of baked pecans in brown sugar crumble on top.

This recipe adds a different twist to the dish with orange zest and warm cinnamon spice. This is a combination of candied yams and sweet potato pie. The creamy sweet potatoes paired with orange zest, warm cinnamon spice makes this dish rich, decadent and oh so satisfying to the taste buds.
