Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference in Salsa and Pico de Gallo?

Pico de Gallo has very little liquid in the bowl and made with raw fresh ingredients. Salsa is often blended with tomatoes and other ingredients, and is runnier than Pico de Gallo

How long will Pico de Gallo last in the refrigerator?

Pico De Gallo is at it's best if it is eaten the same day but, if stored in an airtight container it will last up to three days. You may want to squeeze a little lime juice to freshen the taste from the salsa sitting.

How do you know if Pico de Gallo has gone bad?

If you open the container and it gives an unpleasant smell I would recommend throwing it away immediately.

How long can Pico de Gallo sit out?

I would allow the salsa to sit out for at least two hours, depending on the temperature in the room, and return it to the refrigerator.
