When the store is fresh out of the Oreo pie crust, no worries. You can make it yourself. A quick and easy recipe to make that ice cream pie dream come alive.
You only need two ingredients Oreo cookies and butter. In this recipe I used the regular Oreo not double-stuffed Oreo it seems to adds moisture to the crust that is not needed.
Ingredients-Oreo Cookie Crust
Oreo Cookies-Grind the Oreo cookies using a food processor. If you choose to smash them by hand, make sure the cookies are in fine pieces. Big chunks of Oreo can make the crust too crumbly.
Butter- Melt the butter either on top of the stove or in the microwave.
Mixture- Add the Oreo crumbs to the melted butter and mix it well. Add the crumb mixture to the pie plate and form the crust. You want your mixture to be a sand-like consistency not too dry not too wet.
Final touch- If baking: Add to 350° oven for 10 minutes. or in the freezer for 30 minutes.
