Although I'm not Italian I love spaghetti, now mama Alice made spaghetti with ketchup, tomato paste, a pinch of sugar, oregano, salt, pepper, chopped up onion, and cut-up green peppers at the end she would add a little water if the sauce was too thick. I remember cut-up sharp cheese over the top to finish the dish, Cracker barrel of course. She never brought the jar of Spaghetti sauce until years later. I have added my own twist to the dish. Fresh herbs like oregano, basil, and parsley. Fresh is always best! Don't sleep on tried herbs, it still makes it superb!
To elevate this dish and give it a different flare I have added in some shrimps, pepperoni, mushrooms, or even Italian sausage. Make it your own. To make this a Quick and Easy dish substitute the tomatoes and tomato paste with your favorite jar of Spaghetti sauce still add all the seasonings to enhance the dish.
