Crab Stuffed Mushrooms



Portabella mushrooms stuffed with crab and cheese is one of my greatest love. I love crabs, lobster and shrimp. In fact it is in that order that my addiction for seafood starts. Mushrooms has a meaty texture and takes on the flavor of the seasonings you sauté them in. That is one reason why it marries so well in this dish. It is the perfect vessel to hold the crab and cheese mixture.


These quick and simple to make crab stuffed mushrooms are great as an appetizer for any occasion. The mushrooms are filled with crabmeat, mozzarella cheese, bread crumbs, and the perfect amount of seasonings to send the those tastebuds on a rollercoaster ride full of flavor.

Ingredients Crab Stuffed Mushrooms


1 lb. Portabella Mushrooms

1 (8 oz) can of Crab cake combo or lump crab meat

1/4 cup Herb dressing bread crumbs

1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

3 Tbsp Mayonnaise

1/2 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

4 Tbsp butter

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tsp Old Bay

1 tsp Parsley

1 Egg





Let's Cook!






  • Preheat the oven to 350° F

  • Gently clean the portabella mushrooms with a damp paper towel.

  • Remove the stems from the mushrooms and set them to the side

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mayo, Dijon mustard, black pepper, old bay, Worcestershire sauce, and egg.



  • Once the mixture is blended well, fold in the crabmeat and bread crumbs until the mixture combines completely with all of the ingredients.


  • Add in the remaining seasoning, the garlic powder, onion powder, old bay, kosher salt and parsley to the mixture.

  • Add in shredded mozzarella cheese.




  • Place the butter in a cast iron skillet and melt the butter. Remove from the oven set it to the side.

  • Place the mushrooms in the melted butter and fill each mushroom with the crabmeat mixture.

  • Top with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  • Allow to cool and serve.
